Spreading positivity with The Little Heart Project

The Niwot Knitting Club supports The Little Heart Project for suicide prevention awareness.

About the project:

As president of the Niwot Knitting Club, I helped coordinate our effort to crochet hearts for The Little Heart Project, supporting suicide prevention awareness. Each heart includes a positive message and is distributed throughout local communities to spread love and hope. Together, our club set an ambitious goal of 100 hearts in three weeks—and surpassed it by crocheting 347 hearts!

Design:

I created a graphic encouraging people to “Take a heart!” I chose bright colors to grab attention and create an inviting, positive atmosphere. My goal was to make the flyer visually engaging while also highlighting the Niwot Knitting Club and The Little Heart Project. By using eye-catching colors and fun visuals, I hope to encourage the school population to get involved and raise awareness for suicide prevention.

Sharing the hearts:

Hearts

This flyer will soon be displayed on a bulletin board surrounded by crocheted hearts for people to take. We also plan to place buckets of hearts in various areas around the school, sharing the positive message. The project’s installation has been slower than expected, as the counselor we’re working with often has meetings during our club’s scheduled time. Despite the delays, we’re ready to bring this project to our community as soon as we receive the green light!
